Interstellar, Intergalactic, & Circumgalactic Medium
Interstellar, Intergalactic, & Circumgalactic Medium
This research area is focused on the gas and dust between stars, the gas content between galaxies, and the gas and dust surrounding galaxies like our own. Studies of the ISM, IGM, and CGM include mapping the dust extinction and gas within the Milky Way, constraining the temperature and evolution of low density gas throughout the universe, and probing the composition of the circumgalactic medium across a range of galaxies using spectroscopy.
