Cosmology

Cosmology seeks to answer the biggest questions in astronomy: how and when did the universe form and evolve? There is significant collaboration between the UW Astronomy and Physics departments in this area, especially in the Dark Universe Science Center (DUSC). Research in cosmology within the Department of Astronomy includes observations of the high redshift universe, mapping the sky in radio and optical wavelengths, and N-body modeling of large-scale structure.
