Astrobiology
Astrobiology is the interdisciplinary study of - and search for - life in the universe. Our department is a member of the UW Astrobiology Program, which includes a dual-title PhD track for students across eight departments. Astrobiology research within the Department of Astronomy includes simulating the formation, dynamics, and observable properties of Earth-like planets, making predictions of biosignatures, and carrying out observations of exoplanets with ground- and space-based observatories.
