Biography

I’m currently working on the characterization of massive stars in NGC 6946. Additionally, I’m finishing up my project on the fabrication and characterization of nanofabricated slits for the recent retrofit of KOSMOS at its new home at Apache Point Observatory.

I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, just east of Downtown Los Angeles, with the luxury of cheap food, great hikes, and plenty of sunshine. I have continued to enjoy hiking and backpacking, now in the much greener Pacific Northwest, and have begun volunteering with the Washington Trails Association. Because of the lack of knowledge and access to astronomy that defined my childhood, I am passionate about increasing access to STEM in lower-income neighborhoods for people of color through mentoring and outreach.
