Juliana Karp (they/them)

Hi! I’m an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and ARCS Scholar at the University of Washington, pursuing a PhD in Astronomy. My research interests lie at the intersection of galaxy formation and cosmology, using both near-field cosmology and strong gravitational lensing to observationally map galaxies’ dark matter halos.

I received my B.S. in Astrophysics from Yale University in 2025. During my undergraduate degree, I researched anisotropic satellite galaxy quenching, galaxy groups, and strong gravitational lensing.

Outside of astronomy, I swim and figure skate, and love reading and exploring nature.
