UW Astronomy Professor Jess Werk has been named a recipient of the Cottrell Scholar Award from the Research Corporation for Science Advancement. This competitive award is granted to early-career faculty in the physical sciences for “leader[ship] in integrating science teaching and research”. Professor Werk’s proposal, The Observational Signatures of Cosmic Gas Flows in a Hydrodynamic Framework, combines theory and observations in addition to teaching and research.
